Browser fingerprinting

What is WebGL fingerprinting?

WebGL exposes your GPU vendor, renderer and graphics capabilities. Learn what WebGL fingerprinting collects and how browsers limit it.

What WebGL exposes

WebGL gives web pages access to 3D graphics. To do that it reports capabilities such as maximum texture size, supported extensions and shader precision, and often the GPU vendor and renderer string (for example, a specific graphics chip model).

Hashing those parameters produces a WebGL fingerprint that tends to be stable across visits and differs between hardware and driver combinations.

Masked renderers

Many browsers now return a generic renderer string or hide the unmasked values entirely. When that happens this site shows the GPU as hidden by the browser rather than guessing.
